Specialist in personal injury litigation since 2000
Deborah was admitted in February 1986 and has a degree in Law (Honours) and Economics from the Australian National University. She commenced practice in Sydney with Baker & McKenzie in the corporate, securities and trade law field.
Deborah returned to Canberra in 1988 when she married, working with Dawson & Waldron in the general commercial, finance and corporate fields.
Following time off work to have children, Deborah returned to practice with Maliganis Edwards Johnson in 1996, originally in commercial law.
Since 2000, Deborah has practised in the personal injury litigation field and was appointed a Partner in October 2007.
Deborah is a past member of the ACT Society for the Physically Handicapped Committee, the MBF Council of Members and the ACT Heart Foundation, Go Red for Women Steering Committee. She is passionate about her current role as Chair of the Board of the Canberra Hospital Foundation, Ambassador for the Early Morning Centre in Braddon, and is a strong supporter of Home in Queanbeyan. Deborah is also a member of the Women Lawyers Association (ACT) and of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
In June 2017 Deborah and her husband Richard Rolfe, were both recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours Awards with each receiving the Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
Deborah believes that excellent time management and organisational skills are the key to ensuring the balance between a happy household, a successful law practice and community involvement.
