MEJ is proud to be Canberran-based and each month the team picks two charities that contribute our vibrant, safe, and welcoming city.

In June, we’re excited to make donations to two important local causes and have the chance to celebrate and acknowledge their important work.

The Ricky Stuart Foundation

Created in 2011 by ex-NRL star Ricky Stuart and his wife Kaylie, the Foundation focuses on supporting people with autism and their families. Drawing from their experience raising a daughter with autism, their work addresses a lack of autism awareness, support and respite care available to local families. Their vision is to create an Australia that is inclusive and accepting for individuals with autism.

Stella said she chose the Ricky Stuart Foundation because of the dedicated team and the proven impact across the ACT, their work having helped many families stay strong and united in the face of some big challenges.

Karinya House

Established in 1997, Karinya House provides safety, shelter and a positive support network for women. They are the only service in the ACT to offer 24-hour, seven day a week support specifically for women who are pregnant or parenting, offering case management services which may include residential and/or outreach-based support services.

Deanna nominated Karinya House in recognition of their important work supporting vulnerable women who might not otherwise have the community support that they need.
