MEJ March Charity Spotlight
In March, the MEJ team chose two local charities to support as part of our our monthly morning tea. We are proud to select two causes each month to make a positive difference in the ACT community.
ACT Pet Crisis Support
ACT Pet Crisis Support is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation on a mission to ensure that pets in need have access to veterinary care. They provide subsidised veterinary care for disadvantaged, low-income pet owners who have no other options to care for their pets.
When choosing ACT Pet Crisis Support, Alyssa said having a soft spot for animals, she valued their work to avoid euthanasia purely on economic grounds.
“I think this charity deserves this donation to help give our beloved furry friends a brighter future of many treats and endless cuddles.”

Cancer Council ACT
Cancer Council ACT aims to promote a healthier community by reducing the incidence and impact of cancer in the ACT region.
Svetlana said she chose Cancer Council ACT because we have all been affected by cancer in one way or another.
“The Cancer Council ACT provides information, counselling, practical and emotional support to everyone who is affected by cancer and their carers by means of publications, education events and referral to pro bono services. It also sources wigs and other headwear and sells them at below cost price to cancer patients.
She said their volunteers work tirelessly to support people living with cancer, and encouraged others to make a donation so they can continue to do the excellent work they do.
More information on the Cancer Council ACT can be found on their website.
