MEJ’s Hassan Ehsan named Co-Chair of Abuse Law Special Interest Group
MEJ continues to work at the forefront of legal reform with Senior Associate Hassan Ehsan elected as Co-Chair of the Abuse Law Special interest Group for the Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA). The ALA is a not-for-profit association dedicated to promoting access to justice and equality before the law for everyone, regardless of their wealth, position, gender, sexuality, age, race or religious belief.
Hassan has been a member of this committee for a number of years. He is currently the ACT branch President of the ALA.
With Hassan a senior member of MEJ’s Institutional Abuse practice, this new position will enable our team access to the latest national resources, to ensure MEJ’s clients receive the best possible outcomes.
Hassan says he is grateful for the opportunity to be at the forefront of legal reform for Abuse Law, and to continue to be a passionate advocate for the best outcomes for his clients.
“It’s an honour to be appointed to this position, something that has only been made possible because so many brave clients have trusted me with their cases,” Hassan said.
“We are expanding the practice and have been working with victim-survivors all around Australia.”
Drawing from his ample experience supporting survivor-victims of institutional and child abuse, Hassan will work with legal practitioners from across the country to bring about change within the justice system to make laws more equitable, fair and efficient.
