MEJ’s Kate Waterford – a leader in human rights work
Amnesty is one of the world’s best-known human rights NGOs, and MEJ is proud to see Kate taking on such a significant leadership position on its national board.
Kate has been on the Amnesty board for over four years and has volunteered thousands of hours in her work towards Amnesty’s vision of promoting, defending and protecting the human rights of all people around the world. Kate is often seen at Amnesty’s local Canberra events speaking about human rights issues.
Kate’s passion for seeing individuals realise their rights and achieve justice is also reflected in her work for us here at MEJ, where she specialises in medical negligence and personal injury litigation. Kate is completing a PhD in constitutional and human rights law at ANU.
