On 2 October 2018, the COAG Health Council appointed MEJ’s Special Counsel Kate Waterford to the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
In this role, Kate will work to set policy, codes and guidelines for the physiotherapy profession, part of a national scheme to protect the public when accessing health services.
At MEJ, Kate has extensive experience in personal injury claims, especially medical negligence claims. She has acted for hundreds of injured claimants from all walks of life, with a wide range of injuries and disabilities, accessing all types of health services. Kate has taken on this role, like her work at MEJ, because she understands the importance of quality in health services, and the devastating consequences for individuals and families when things go wrong.
MEJ is proud that Kate has taken on this exciting new role, and sure that the skills which she gains through it will make her an even better advocate for our clients.
