MEJ announces promotions for Isobel Hall, Mirna Faraj and Kirsten Nasser
Maliganis Edwards Johnson is proud to announce the promotion of three talented members of the team: Isobel Hall to Senior Associate, and Mirna Faraj and Kirsten Nasser to Associate.
MEJ Partners James Treloar, Kirsten Leitch and Kate Waterford congratulated all three on their achievements.
“Each of these promotions reflects the hard work, dedication and genuine care these lawyers bring to their clients and to the firm every day,” said Kate Waterford. “We are so proud to recognise their contributions and look forward to everything they will continue to achieve.”
Isobel Hall, Senior Associate
Isobel graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 2019, beginning her career in commercial and property law before moving into personal injury litigation. Her promotion to Senior Associate recognises the considerable expertise she has built since making that transition, across multiple jurisdictions and with a particular background in medical negligence, public liability and institutional abuse matters.
At MEJ, Isobel works on the medical negligence team, and across a broad range of personal injury claims, bringing a compassionate approach and a deep understanding of both the medical and legal complexities her clients face.
Mirna Faraj, Associate
Mirna Faraj graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Laws and went on to complete her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law. Her promotion from Solicitor to Associate reflects the skill and dedication she has brought to her work across medical negligence, public liability and workers compensation matters since joining the firm.
Mirna is known for her detail-oriented approach and genuine commitment to making the litigation process as clear and manageable as possible for her clients, many of whom are navigating the legal system for the first time.
“Mirna takes the time to really listen,” says MEJ Partner Kirsten Leitch. “Her clients feel heard and supported throughout their claim, and that matters enormously in the areas of law she works in.”
Kirsten Nasser, Associate
Kirsten Nasser brings a perspective to personal injury law that is genuinely hard to replicate. Kirsten spent over a decade working across personal injury law firms before her admission, in roles ranging from administration through to paralegal and law clerk positions across all Australian jurisdictions. Her promotion to Associate is a recognition of the depth of knowledge and commitment she has brought to the role from day one.
Growing up in a small country town where legal help was hard to find, Kirsten saw firsthand how the system can leave people behind. That experience has shaped everything about how she practises law today.
“I’ve seen what happens when people don’t have proper legal representation,” Kirsten explains. “That’s why I’m so passionate about making sure every client gets the advocacy they deserve, no matter their background or circumstances.”
Kirsten specialises in institutional abuse claims, public liability, medical negligence and motor vehicle accidents. She is known for her empathetic, down-to-earth approach and her determination to ensure every client’s voice is heard.
