MEJ Charity Spotlight: Cancer Council, Newborn Intensive Care Foundation, OzHarvest
This month, the MEJ team has enjoyed giving back to the Canberra community, from lacing up our walking shoes on a chilly Canberra night to supporting organisations providing essential care to some of our community’s most vulnerable. We’re proud to spotlight three charities making a real difference, Cancer Council Australia, the Newborn Intensive Care Foundation, and OzHarvest.
Relay for Life, Cancer Council Australia
Despite the chilly Canberra evening, Canberra showed up for Relay for Life 2026, and we’re thrilled to share that team MEJ raised $2,650 for Cancer Council Australia.
Relay for Life raises vital funds to support cancer research, prevention programs, and support services for patients and their families across Australia. Cancer touches so many lives, and events like this are a powerful reminder of what a community can achieve when it shows up for one another.
Thank you to everyone who walked with us, donated, and cheered us on. Your support means more than you know.
Newborn Intensive Care Foundation, Canberra
This month, MEJ made a donation to the Newborn Intensive Care Foundation Canberra, an organisation providing critical support to families navigating one of the most stressful experiences imaginable — a baby in intensive care.
The Foundation supports families and healthcare teams in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Canberra Hospital, funding equipment, family support programs, and research to improve outcomes for the tiniest and most vulnerable patients. We are proud to support the incredible work they do.
OzHarvest
Our third spotlight this month goes to OzHarvest, nominated by our own Heather Ross, Special Counsel.
“More people are finding it difficult to put food on the table right now,” says Heather. “It is important that we support charities who provide the basic necessities for sustaining life.”
OzHarvest is Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, collecting quality surplus food from businesses and delivering it directly to people in need. At a time when cost of living pressures are being felt across the country, the work OzHarvest does, providing nourishing meals to vulnerable Australians, is more important than ever.
Proud to support our Canberra community
