The latest charities featured in our monthly spotlight are Menslink and Orange Sky Canberra. Every month we are excited to share the great work of some wonderful not-for-profit and charity organisations, and how they make people’s lives better.

This month, Orange Sky was chosen for their work supporting some of Canberra’s most vulnerable community members.

MEJ Law Clerk Kirsten Nasser says the charity has 16 easy to reach locations across the ACT where people who are struggling to do their laundry.

“They also create a space where those needing laundry services can sit and speak with the volunteers as well as each other, helping to create social connections in times that might otherwise feel isolating.” Kirsten says.

‘Given that there are nearly 2000 Canberrans experiencing homelessness, I think it’s important to continue to support charities such as Orange Sky who assist these vulnerable members of our community in their times of need.

The second charity chosen was Menslink which provides free counselling, volunteer mentoring and education programs for young men going through tough or lonely times. The organisation has been supporting men in the Canberra region for over twenty years, and the MEJ team was excited to support this important service that has helped so many locals.

Stay tuned for regular charity spotlights, a chance for our team to celebrate the people and organisations making a big difference in our community.
