When Svetlana Todoroski meets with clients, she knows they’re often facing one of the most difficult periods of their lives. Whether it’s a workplace injury, bullying, or sexual harassment, people come to her when something has gone suddenly and unfairly wrong.

“Most people come to me when they’re overwhelmed,” Svetlana explains.

“Those who are injured, whether physically or psychologically, deserve to feel safe, to be heard, and to be guided with compassion. My role is to lead clients through this process with clarity, empathy and determination so they never have to face it alone.”

Over the years, Svetlana has represented clients from all walks of life, from construction workers injured on site to office employees. Each story is unique, yet they all share a common thread: a need for someone who listens without judgement, understands their experience, and stands beside them with genuine care and strength.

What sets Svetlana apart is her commitment to making the legal process less daunting. She speaks in plain language, keeps clients informed, and ensures they feel supported at every stage. Some cases resolve quickly, others take longer and may involve the courts, but in every matter, her goal remains the same: to achieve the best possible outcome whilst helping clients move forward with dignity and confidence.

“Clients often tell me that what mattered most wasn’t just the result, but how they felt supported throughout the journey,” says Svetlana.

One message that deeply touched her came from a recent client who wrote: “Thank you so much for your guidance, compassion, and understanding throughout my case. You brought a great sense of comfort in such a difficult time, and I am very grateful. You’re not just an exceptional lawyer, but a truly beautiful person.”

Messages like these remind Svetlana why she chose to practise law.

In her personal life, Svetlana is grounded by her beautiful family and Balkan heritage. Migrating to Australia at age 10 taught her resilience, patience, and the importance of seeing the good in people, even in challenging times. These lessons continue to shape her as both a person and a lawyer.

Earlier this year, Svetlana faced a major health challenge that led to heart surgery and profoundly changed her outlook on life. What began as a frightening ordeal became a powerful reminder of how precious life truly is. She reflects, “I’m actually grateful for what happened — it ultimately saved my life and gave me a deeper appreciation for every day.”

That experience taught Svetlana to let go of what doesn’t matter and to focus on what truly does: family, health, genuine human connection, and maintaining a healthy work–life balance.

Beyond her client work, Svetlana is passionate about mentoring the next generation of lawyers and law students. She believes in paying it forward and remains deeply grateful to those who’ve supported her journey, both personally and professionally.

“Mentorship, to me, is about sharing experience, building confidence in others, and fostering empathy and authenticity within the legal profession,” she says.

Whether you’re an injured person seeking guidance or someone looking for a mentor, Svetlana would love to connect.
