James is a senior litigation partner with more than 25 years’ experience acting in personal injury matters. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1999 and has developed a well-established practice built on careful preparation, sound judgment, and a steady approach to litigation.
He practises across a broad range of personal injury claims, with particular experience in motor accident and public liability matters. James regularly acts in complex cases involving contested liability and significant injuries, and is experienced in both negotiated resolutions and court proceedings in the ACT jurisdiction.
James takes a practical and measured approach to his work. He focuses on identifying the key issues early, providing clear advice, and working with clients to achieve appropriate outcomes. He understands that many clients are dealing with difficult circumstances and places importance on clear communication and consistent guidance throughout the course of a claim.
He has been involved in securing a range of favourable settlements and outcomes for his clients, reflecting a disciplined and methodical approach to case preparation and negotiation.
James is a former member of the ACT Civil Litigation Committee and is a member of the Australian Lawyers Alliance. He is recognised by Doyle’s Guide as one of the ACT’s leading plaintiff lawyers in personal injury law.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science from the Australian National University, and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney.
Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, and getting to the mountains when he can.
