Each month we are excited to share some incredible work across the Canberra community, and our latest charity spotlights are Hands Across Canberra and Canteen.

Hands Across Canberra was nominated by Paralegal Natasha Claridge for their unique approach to charitable giving and community support across the capital.

“I chose Hands Across Canberra as they assist in supporting and funding 350 charities over Canberra, allowing distribution of financial aid & awareness of smaller charities who may not have the capacity to achieve this on their own,” says Natasha.

“I think it is a great way to make the most of the donation and support vulnerable people”

Through their comprehensive network, Hands Across Canberra acts as a vital connector, ensuring that smaller grassroots organisations receive the support and visibility they need to continue their important work in the community.

The second charity chosen this month is Canteen, nominated by Special Counsel Heather Ross for their dedicated support of young people facing cancer. Canteen provides essential services including counselling, peer support programs, and recreational activities specifically designed for young cancer patients and their families, helping them navigate one of life’s most challenging experiences with dignity and hope.

We do a spotlight on local charities each month, giving our team a chance to celebrate and recognise the people and organisations that make a big difference in our community.
