MEJ Charity spotlight: Karinya House and Cerebral Palsy Alliance
This month we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on two exceptional organisations that our MEJ team is actively supporting through fundraising events – Karinya House and the Cerebral Palsy Alliance.
Karinya House: Walking for hope
Our team recently laced up for the Karinya House Walk for Hope, supporting an organisation that has been a beacon of safety for vulnerable women in our community for over 27 years.
Karinya House provides critical accommodation and support services for women facing domestic violence and homelessness whilst pregnant or parenting. Their comprehensive approach ensures that no woman has to navigate motherhood alone during some of life’s most challenging circumstances.
What makes Karinya House special is their understanding that supporting mothers means supporting entire families. By providing safe accommodation, practical assistance, and emotional support during pregnancy and early parenting, they help women build stronger, safer futures for themselves and their children.
Cerebral Palsy Alliance: Stepping up for Steptember
Throughout September, our MEJ team is taking on the Steptember challenge, committing to 10,000 steps a day to raise funds for babies, children, and adults living with cerebral palsy.
Steptember has become a national movement, with over 20 million Australians already participating and raising more than $89 million for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance. This incredible grassroots initiative demonstrates how collective action can create meaningful change.
The funds raised support vital research, therapy services, equipment, and programs that improve the quality of life for Australians living with cerebral palsy. From early intervention programs for children to assistive technology for adults, every step our team takes contributes to life-changing support.
We do a spotlight on local charities each month, giving our team a chance to celebrate and recognise the people and organisations that make a big difference in our community.
