MEJ welcomes solicitor Kirsten Nasser
MEJ is proud to introduce our newest solicitor, Kirsten Nasser, who after more than a decade in personal injury law, was formally admitted as a legal practitioner by the ACT Supreme Court.
Raised in a small country town where access to legal services was often limited or misunderstood, Kirsten gained first-hand insight into the barriers many face when seeking justice.
“I come from a small country town where people often avoid lawyers at all costs,” Kirsten says.
“Unfortunately, this can mean missing out on potential entitlements.” she explains.
This background has fostered her commitment to making legal processes more accessible and less intimidating for all clients. Kirsten’s journey to becoming a solicitor followed an unexpected trajectory.
“I was initially interested in becoming a sworn member of the Australian Federal Police,” she says.
“I took on a role as an administrative assistant at a boutique firm in Canberra, believing that this kind of experience would set me apart from other AFP applicants.”
This career move ultimately revealed her true calling, and shortly after Kirsten enrolled herself in a Bachelor of Law. The transition from administrative work to legal practice provided Kirsten with valuable perspective on multiple aspects of the legal system.
Prior to her formal admission as a lawyer, Kirsten worked in personal injury law firms throughout Australia, with particular emphasis on institutional abuse cases. This background means she has developed comprehensive knowledge of court processes and procedures across all Australian jurisdictions.
Her professional focus encompasses institutional abuse, public liability, medical negligence, and motor vehicle accident claims—all areas requiring both technical knowledge and considerable sensitivity.
“At MEJ, the initial consultation is free and is all about understanding your situation to enable me to provide clear pathways on how I may be able to help,” she explains.
“It’s also a great opportunity to ask questions, with no obligation to move forward if you reach the conclusion that you do not want to proceed.”
When not advocating for her clients Kirsten loves to catch up with friends over a meal, explore Canberra’s walking trails, or planing a weekend getaway. She also loves diving into a good book, and tuning into past episodes of The Big Bang Theory.
